Freedom Through Vigilance Association
Heritage Meeting Overview
San Angelo, Texas

The Heritage Chapter meets the first Thursday of each month (except for January and July) at 1900. Locations of the meetings vary. Contact the Heritage Chapter or review the meeting minutes for the meeting location.. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved and a treasury report was made:

Old Business:

EC-47 Update: (OPEN)
The bids for the EC-47 refurbishment and mockup were quite expensive. The 17th Training Wing has fenced funds for this project, but has not released anything. It is important to note that a new Training Wing Commander has taken the helm as well, and will need to be brought up to speed. Phase II of this project could be a possible look at internal equipment mockups. Heritage members will discuss this possibility further.

TSgt Fred Sebers Memorialization Update: (OPEN)
Records are still required to verify service. This is a work in progress with strong Wing CC support.Once records are obtained it will likely be a done deal. Jim Ali mentioned that Fred Sebers is listed on his Purple Heart orders and he could provide that information if it were required.

New Business:

Gift to Outgoing Wing CC - Col Neubauer: (CLOSED) The Chapter decided to give Col Nuebauer appreciation gifts to include a book on the EC-47, and an Antique Airlines (EC-47) coin.

New Commandant at NCO Academy: (CLOSED)

There is a new Commandant to the NCO Academy, Chief-sel Candier. We will try to set up a time when he can come visit the group and learn how we can provide various types of assistance as we have done in the recent past.

Don Woods: (CLOSED)

At the meeting is was announced that Don Woods, a longtime Heritage Chapter member and USAFSS brother, had a heart attack and was stabilized on oxygen. Since that meeting we have learned that Don lost his battle on 21 August. Funeral was held on 24 August. The family has asked that those who know Don and want to contribute can please do so with your favorite charity.

Once the meeting adjourned we were privileged to hear from Col (ret) Bruha, who has quite a history at Goodfellow going back to the beginnings of Intelligence training. He finished his Goodfellow tour of duty as Vice Wing Commander before retirement. Currently, he is the CEO of the San Angelo Colts professional baseball team. He talked about old times and about the business of running the Colts. The discussion was very interesting and lively. We were all invited for a group visit (next year, the season is just about over as I write this).
