A. SEPTEMBER 9, 2004, BOARD OF DIRECTORS MONTHLY MEETING: Grover Jackson called the BOD to order at 1330 hours in the SSFCU Board room. Attendees: Grover Jackson, Chris Cook, Grover McMakin, Joe Hurst, Bob Sherwood, Doug Holden, Okey Warden, Bob Baert, Marco Aldaz, Jim Hilliard, the incoming Official Activities Chair, and MSgt Chris King, representing AIA as the Event Coordinator for the FTVA Reunion.

B. MINUTES: The Board of Directors Meeting, August 20, 2004, minutes were reviewed and approved.

C. TREASURER’S REPORT: Bob Cope presented the monthly Treasurer’s Report. There were no questions and it will be filed for audit.

D. OLD BUSINESS:

(A) FTVA Reunion – The only open items appeared to be a Security Office Point of Contact for the Membership list for base access (Jimmy Jones, the SO Director, was provided), and the fact that printing the Programs was still an open question (MSgt King would provide any updates to Chris Cook). The Board approved a motion that $500 be provided to AIA Protocol for Hall of Honor Induction refreshments. MSgt King will deliver the check. Joe Hurst reported that he had 137 golfers and that he would surely fill the seven remaining slots.

(B) Support for the Winds of War – Human Experience – Doug Holden restated his information on the Institute of Texan Cultures exhibit. Dr. Shirley Mock is still planning on presenting a support request to the Board at the October meeting

E. NEW BUSINESS:

(A) Reunion Date - There was some discussion on the 2005 FTVA reunion. AIA was still working to nail down a date for their Commanders’ Conference. Tabled.
(B) AIA Support - Grover Jackson received a call from AIA/PA concerning FTVA support for the Ambassadors’ Program. The Board agreed that a 25% COLA increase was in order and approved a motion to provide $1,250. MSgt King will deliver the check.
(C) Board Vacancies - Grover Jackson introduced Jim Hilliard, who has accepted the Official Activities (Partner Program) Chair from Okey Warden. Marco Aldaz ended the search for a new Historian (to replace Jim Mayer) as soon as he heard the vacancy existed.
(D) Correspondence – Grover Jackson reported that Al Prendergast had requested data to begin work on establishing a Florida Chapter. Bob Baert will provide a current membership mail list.

The meeting adjourned at 2:12PM. The next meeting will be held 15 October 2004 in the SSFCU Board room.
