FREEDOM THROUGH VIGILANCE ASSOCIATION 11/22/03 A. Nov 22, 2003 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MONTHLY MEETING: Grover Jackson called the BOD to order at 13:30 hours Attendees: Grover Jackson, Chris Cook, Bob Cope, Bob Crabtree, Bob Baert, Dan Dapolito, Bob Sherwood, Grover McMakin, Okey Warden, Doug Holden, and John Worthington. Visitors were Maj Steve Doub and Mr. Masao Doi. from AIA/PA.B. MINUTES: BOARD OF DIRECTORSMEETING – Oct 17, 2003 minutes were reviewed and approved as submitted C. TREASURER’S REPORT: Bob Cope provided the financial report, which was discussed and approved as submitted. D. OLD BUSINESS: Hall of Honor Update: Chris Cook reported discussions with AIA/CCM (CMSgt Dowling). Chris requested Chief Dowling provide a plan for the HOH update. It was suggested that a meeting at HQ AIA be held with Chief Dowling to look at the HOH. The AIA Open House on 22 Dec was mentioned as a possible meeting date, but no decision was made. FTVA Calendars and Christmas Cards: 1. Doug Holden has received the pictures from the FTVA weekend and other contributions. There was some discussion about the calendars and it was agreed that we would work on the initial calendar for 2005 with 13 pictures from the history of the command. 2. Bob Baert provided information on the Christmas cards. It was agreed to purchase the cards from Kinkos to send to our partners that have supported us this year. E. CORRESPONDENCE: 1). A letter was received from AIA/CC acknowledging our request to identify programs that AIA could use FTVA support. 2). Historical data on the death of President Kennedy was provided by Richard Ebersol to the board. 3). CD with old photos was received from Ms Freddie Freeman, AIA/HO. Doug Holden will review for possible use in FTVA calendar for 2005. F. NEW BUSINESS: 1). AIA 36-2819 (AIA Anniversary Program): Several people voiced concern as to what support AIA will provide for the FTVA Anniversary Activities. It was agreed that Grover Jackson would set up a meeting with AIA/DS (Col Bair) to discuss the support AIA would and would not provide. Maj Steve Doub, AIA/PA,will inform Col Bair AIA/DS that Grover Jackson will call to set up the appointment. 2). Support to AIA Programs: Maj Gen LeBras’ letter acknowledged AIA’s priorities for the following programs: SENSOR OLYMPICS, AIA Awards Programs, Memorial Programs, and AIA Ambassadors. Maj Doub, AIA/PA, was asked if the AIA Ambassador program could use funding support? He said yes and the board approved a motion to support the program. A check was given to Maj Doub. Grover Jackson will contact the AIA/CCM to discuss support to the AIA recognition programs. G. FUNCTIONAL AREAS: 1) Grover McMakin’s report was delayed until the next meeting. 2) Bob Baert advised that we were changing Internet servers at this time.
