A. May 21, 2004, BOARD OF DIRECTORS MONTHLY MEETING: Grover Jackson called the BOD to order at 1330 hours in the SSFCU Director’s Board Room. Attendees: Grover Jackson, Chris Cook, Bob Cope, Bob Crabtree, Dan Dapolito, Grover McMakin, Bob Baert, Okey Warden, Joe Hurst, Jim Mayer, Bob Sherwood, Doug Holden, John Worthington, Maj David Bowers (977-2265) representing AIA as the Event Coordinator for the FTVA Reunion, Col Diggins as the AIA Liason to FTVA.

B. MINUTES: The BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING, April 16, 2004, minutes were reviewed and approved.

C. TREASURER’S REPORT: Bob Cope provided the monthly financial report, which will be filed for audit. The FTVA income tax return has been completed by “To the Penny”

D. OLD BUSINESS:

ROAD IN ARMENIA – Col Diggins agreed with Grover Jackson that any action is at the General LeBras and Koziol level at this time.

SPRING SOCIAL – Grover McMakin reported the Spring Social is set for 11 June 2004. As of 21 May 30 people will attend the Spring Social. There will be a pay as you go bar.

E. FUNCTIONAL AREAS:
FTVA REUNION:
Golf Tournament – Joe Hurst recommended that the golf tournament be played on the Gateway Valley (Security Hill) course only for 166 golfers on 23 September 04.
FTVA Reunion Banquet – Grover McMakin reported the FTVA Banquet will take place on 25 Sep 2004. Cocktails will be served at 1730, dinner served at 1800. Tickets will be $25.00. The guest speaker will be Jim Clapper. The theme is “Salute to our Silent Warriors” The mail out package will be reviewed at the next meeting.
FTVA Tax Return:
Grover McMakin - The 2003 FTVA income tax return has been completed by “To the Penny.” It was also recommended that the contract to accomplish the FTVA income tax return be renewed with “To the Penny.” The tax return was approved and the contract was renewed.
FTVA Auditors report:
Jim Mayer – Presented the auditors report, which was approved.
FTVA Calendars:
Doug Holden – He has several CD’s of pictures from USAFSS, ESC, AFIC, and AIA units around the world. He will begin selecting pictures for a calendar.
FTVA Web page support:
Bob Baert - Will assist the Heritage Chapter adding their Webb pages to the FTVA Webb page.
Vigilant Partners Program:
Okey Wardon - Total donations to date for 2004 are $5,000.
FTVA Hall of Honor:
Bob Sherwood – Five new submissions have been received for Hall of Honor nominations. The selection committee will begin the selection process in June.
F. CORRESPONDENCE: (JACKSON AND BOARD MEMBERS)
Bob Crabtree – Hand carried the minutes of the Aloha Chapter meeting and a picture of the officers. The picture will be placed in the next news letter. A letter was received from J. Prendergast
G. The next meeting will be held at 1330 hours, 18 June 2004, in the SSFCU Board Room. The meeting adjourned at 2:20 PM. PS – the next meeting was rescheduled to 25 June at 1330 in the SSFCU Board room.
