D. OLD BUSINESS:
1. SPRING SOCIAL – Grover McMakin provided feedback on the Spring
Social., 11 June 2004. The program was good, but club support was definitely
lacking.
Just a few things:
Not enough tables were set up; the food was put out at 5:30PM, not 6:00PM,
the Honor bar was not set up. Feedback to the club manager was provided.
The common feeling was it reminded the members of a run down VFW.
2. FTVA REUNION –
(A) Banquet - Maj Bowers the event coordinator is working with the Lackland
Club on the banquet for 350-400 people on 25 Sep 2004. He told the club manager
what would be acceptable and what would not. The Band of the West has been
requested, no status at this time. Grover McMakin was contacted concerning
dress for the banquet. Due to printing of the mail out packages, the wording
will stay the same for this year. The question of who would print the AIA Hall
of Honor Induction/Banquet brochures was
raised and Grover Jackson stated that he would call Gen LeBras on the subject.
(B) Hall of Honor and Remembrance – Bob Sherwood informed the board
that the Hall of Honor selection committee will meet in late Jun. The Remembrance
Ceremony is being planned by John Daugherty. An AIA letter is needed to
be sent to the Masonic Potentate for the bag pipers.
(C) Golf Tournament – The golf tournament is set for 23 Sep at the
Valley Course (Security Hill) for 166 golfers. Lt Vickery from AIA/XP will
assist
Joe Hurst with the golf tournament.
(D) FTVA REUNION mail outs - Bob Baert informed the board the packages had
been printed and would be mailed out.
3. NEWS LETTER – The Newsletter has been sent out. All input for
the next newsletter should be sent to Dan Dapolito not later than 1 Aug

be included in the election; for two year terms. Bob Crabtree was nominated
for
Secretary and Bob Cope was nominated for Treasurer.
